TitanCon 2018 Programming

We are excited to be expanding our programming and events to a full weekend for the first time. Our team will be hard at work over the coming months to make the most of this opportunity. You can expect to see more programming covering not only our traditional areas of Media (including Game of Thrones of course) and Literature, but Young Adult, Art, Science and Fandom. We also hope to have an expanded range of workshops running on both Saturday and Sunday.

For an idea of a typical TitanCon programme, check out our schedules from the 2016 and 2017 conventions.

Outline Schedule

Friday: the convention will start mid-afternoon with limited programming and our traditional staff and volunteers meeting. After a break for dinner, we will then hold our Opening Ceremony, leading directly into Literature Night - a relaxed and cultured evening of readings from our Guests of Honour and other friends. The bar will of course be open all evening and this will be the perfect way to catch up with old friends and make some new ones before the convention proper begins.

Saturday: programming and workshops will start from 10 a.m. and continue through the day until 6 p.m. Our Dealers' Room and Art Show will open around mid-day and stay open similarly until 6 p.m.

Saturday evening will feature our ever-popular evening entertainments, with our much loved karaoke and disco - including of course our Lovely Beard Competition.

Sunday: we will offer further programming from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. when we will convene for the last time for our Closing Ceremony. The Dealers' Room and Art Show will be open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Throughout the weekend you can expect to see a variety of panels, talks and interviews, as well as our traditional quiz and the Great TitanCon Booksale and signing session. We will also have gaming activities available during the day and through the evenings into the small hours.

Monday: we will once again be arranging a Coach Tour and Feast to follow the main convention. Visit locations, sing songs, and enjoy a hog roast with friends!
